So I’m sitting in a coffeeshop in Cleveland writing this post today. It’s sunny and 70º outside, and I’m writing lyrics to a new song. I could not be happier.
Yes, I was voted off the show, and my time on The Voice has come to an end. Though it was tough to leave, I have decided to be joyful and excited about my departure. This opportunity has changed my life and has given me a chance to share my voice with millions and millions of people. I worked with accomplished musicians that believed in me and my gift, and I made it to the top 12 out of thousands of people. How could I be sad about that??
My dream of becoming a full time musician is absolutely in reach and there are already big things happening. I’m a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason and that hard work pays off. I worked my tail off while I was on the show, and I know that God has big things in store for me and my passion for music.
I am already working on releasing an EP and building radio interest in this music. Keep your eyes and ears open. You’ll be hearing a lot from me in the near future.
I want to thank a few people.
Adam: Thank you for believing in me. You saved me twice, and it means the world to me. I have listened to Maroon 5 since I was a young kid, and to have one of your childhood musical heroes advising you and believing in you is so surreal.
Mom & Dad: Thank you for teaching me how to be a fighter for things I believe in. Your perseverance and strong will have given me a different outlook on life and how to work hard for what you want.
Fans & anyone who voted for me: You have made my time on the show so unbelievably great. When I was in middle school, I was bullied a lot for my image. This experience kept me away from the stage and made me so self conscious. For every tweet, email, support letter, and comment made proving those middle school experiences wrong – THANK YOU.
Kellie: My best friend. You will always be the best example of grace and love in my life. Even if I couldn’t sing another note, I know you’d be right next to me holding my hand. Love you with all my heart.
Keep watching the show! There are so many artists that deserve your attention and vote.I love my Voice family; such an incredible group of musicians.
